My name is Silvia Solymosyova and I am 16 years old. I am an artistic swimmer, member of the Slovak National Team. My main event is mixed duet which I swim with my younger brother Jozef!
I started synchro at the age of 6. We had practices in a small hotel pool which was very shallow. At the age of 12 we moved our practices to the regular pool in the capital city. At the same time I started to swim mixed duet with my brother Jozef and started to study dance at Dance conservatory in Bratislava. It is really difficult to combine synchro and school! In school we have different lessons of dance like classical (ballet), modern, folk, character etc. Plus we have subjects like in other schools e.g. English or History. Sometimes I feel very tired when I have to swim after 4,5 hours of dancing in school...
My brother and I pre swam mixed duets at World Championships 2017 in Budapest, Junior World Championships 2018 again in Budapest and Junior European Championships 2019 in Prague. Next year (2020), Jozef will turn 15 and we will finally be able to compete at top competitions. I hope mixed duets will be included in the programme of the Games of the XXXIII Olympiad in Paris.
